Abstract

The aim of the current research was to determine the role of social media in the promotion of archaeological sites in the Malakand division. In this regard, the researchers investigated the perceptions of visitors to archaeological sites in the region. A quantitative method was employed to collect data from individuals who had visited archaeological sites in Malakand division. Data were collected from two districts, Swat and Lower Dir. The findings revealed that visitors were influenced by social media. Furthermore, the results indicated that social media is an effective tool for the promotion of archaeological sites, and that government bodies and local communities could utilize it to enhance the global visibility of these heritage sites.
